Class Descriptions
These are descriptions of classes that are offered at various times. Please contact the studio for times and
availability.
Pre-Primary and Primary Ballet
Pre-primary classes are offered for children ages 5-7.
Primary classes are offered for children ages 8-9.
Classes are a build up of the level before with increase of classical vocabulary and technique. Similar to previous levels it increases self confidence, joy of movement and dance. At this stage more structure is introduced in the settings of the exercises. At these levels examinations are introduced.
Grades 1-8 Ballet
These levels are offered to children beginning from ages 9 and up. In these grades, Ballet vocabulary and
technique increase from the previous levels. In Grades 1 to 8 there are three components to the class, classical
technique, free movement and character.
Vocational Classes:
Classes from Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 2 are offered. This syllabus has been designed by the Royal
Academy of Dance to give the necessary training to students wishing to study ballet seriously with a possible
view to follow a career in dance or dance related subjects. Pointe Work for females is introduced at this time.
